The light meter allows you tolight up the subject you are taking a picture of and not the background when its to dark around. In the first picture meter mode is focused on the monitor only and the second picture it is focused on the person but the light from the monitor still appers blurd. They are different because they are focused on different subjects. This tool can help by allowing me to take a picture of exactly what i want when its dark.
